She is also adjunct professor on "Environmental Impact on Materials, Deterioration and Ageing" at the University of Bologna. She is an expert in climate change and pollution impact on cultural heritage, risk assessment and vulnerability analysis. She is a member of the EU Task Force "Copernicus Cultural Heritage", and she recently coordinated the Interreg Central Europe Projects ProteCHt2save and STRENCH.
Her research Activities focus on:
- Risk and vulnerability assessment of built heritage and cultural landscape exposed to climate extreme events
- Protection of cultural heritage in facing climate change impact, including extreme events, by damage modelling and risk mapping
- Impact of gaseous pollutants and aerosol on built heritage (monuments, historic buildings and archaeological sites) in urban and coastal areas.
- Building materials characterization and damage evaluation (black crusts, salts).
- Environmental compatibility and durability of materials for restoration and conservation
