Dr. Savvas Genitsaris completed his PhD in Microbial Ecology, followed by postdoctoral research positions on the diversity of microbial communities of marine habitats examined with microscopic and molecular approaches. He is currently an Asst. Prof. of Aquatic Systems at the University of Athens (NKUA). His research interests are related to the investigation of the biodiversity, structure and function of microbial communities, including microeukaryotes and prokaryotes, in aquatic systems. He is the author of 47 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
