Full professor, he was member of the Italian Ecolabel Ecoaudit Committee in 2000-04. Since 2013 to 2020 he was member of the Consultation Board of the Italian Ministry of  Research for Horizon 2020. President of the Italian LCA Network Association in 2015-19. Since 2020 he represents Italy in the Euro-Mediterranean Bureau of the Union for Mediterranean Regional Platform on Research & Innovation. Since 2022 he is Director of the Centre for Sustainability and Ecological Transition (CSET), Chair of the PhD course on Ecological Transition since 2022, and national representative for European SETPLAN IWG5 Energy Performance of Buildings.
