Africa 21 “Prevention of risks of natural disasters and climate change in Maghreb” workshop for journalists

Africa 21 is a think-tank based at the heart of International Geneva, on the tryptic of sustainable development, multilateral diplomacy, and African issues. The organization is particularly interested in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its implementation from Geneva to Africa.

From 21 to 23 September 2020 Africa 21 organized a workshop on the prevention of risks of natural disasters and climate change in Maghreb (in French: “La prévention des risques de catastrophes et changement climatique au Maghreb”) for journalists.

Prof. Semia Cherif (Coordinating Lead Author of the “Drivers” chapter of the 1st Mediterranean Assessment Report, MAR1, prepared by the MedECC) and Grammenos Mastrojeni (Senior Deputy Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean) presented the main findings of MAR1 on climate and environmental change and actions to face climate change in the Mediterranean Basin.

MedECC at UNFCCC COP29
