Mohamed Abdel Monem
Dr. Abdel Monem is a professor of land and water management at the Atomic Energy Authority in Egypt. He holds a PhD in agronomy from Colorado State University, USA. He is currently Team Leader and Project Manager at the EU-ZIRA3A program in Egypt, under the EU/AICS (The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) and part of the EU Integrated Rural Development Program for Egypt.
With a strong expertise in climate change and rural development, he served as His Senior Advisor at the at FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa from 2016 to 2023. He is former staff of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), worked as Regional Team Leader for Ecosystem Management in Nairobi, Kenya for 11 years from 2003 to 2014. He served as Natural Resources Management Specialist with the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas ICARDA for 7 years. He worked as a soil scientist with the University of Nebraska in Morocco for 4 years from 1986 to 1990. He is professor of Soils at the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority.
