Valentina Mereu is a researcher of the IAFES division (Impacts on Agriculture, Forests and Ecosystem Services) of the CMCC Foundation (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change). She holds a degree in Agricultural Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in Agrometeorology and Ecophysiology of Agricultural and Forestry Systems. Her research focuses on the assessment of climate change impacts on agricultural sector and implementation of adaptation and mitigation strategies.
She has been involved in several national and international projects. She coordinated the development of the Italian National Adaptation Plan and contributed to the Regional Adaptation Strategy of the Sardinia Region. She was thematic expert for agriculture for the Climate-ADAPT platform (EEA), and one of the lead authors of the EEA report: “Climate change adaptation in the agriculture sector in Europe”. She is author of several research articles, book chapters, reports, conference proceedings.
