Dr. Anna Pirani is a senior research associate of the CMCC research division ‘Risk assessment and adaptation strategies’. She is working on international, European, national and local climate risk assessment and climate policies, in particular adaptation. She is a member of the support and analysis team of the Italian delegation for UNFCCC negotiations, in particular for adaptation. She is working on the assessment of climate risks at the regional scale, and development of the CLIMAX toolbox for the Horizon Europe project “CLIMAte risk and vulnerability Assessment framework and toolboX (CLIMAX)”, the assessment of local climate risks for the LIFE project “CLIMate Adaptation for the PO river basin district (CLIMAX-PO)”, and on European climate risk assessment, in particular the development of storylines on climate risks that require European-scale coordination and management for the EEA project “European Climate Risk Assessment (EUCRA)”. Her background is in oceanography and climate science with a particular interest in scenarios of possible futures of climate, impacts and risks, adaptation and socio-economic futures.
