George N. Zaimes is an Associate Professor at the Dept. of Forestry and Natural Environment Sciences, International Hellenic University. He is the Director of GERi lab (Geomorphology, Edaphology and Riparian Areas) and Deputy Director of the UNESCO CHAIR Con-E-Ect on the Conservation and Ecotourism of Riparian and Deltaic Ecosystems.

His research focuses on the sustainable management of semi-aquatic ecosystems using nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based and ecohydrological approaches under the perspective of climate change impacts. He is the author of many book chapters and numerous publications in journals and conference proceedings (>150).
