The First Mediterranean Assessment Report (MAR1) on climate and environmental change in the Mediterranean was published in November in 2020. This report was prepared by more than 100 scientists from 20 countries, who are members of the MedECC network. We asked some of the authors of the report and the members of the MedECC Steering Committee to reply to three questions:
1) What impacts of climate and environmental changes are already visible in the Mediterranean Basin ?
2) What are the most serious challenges for Mediterranean ecosystems and societies in the next decades ?
3) Could you give some examples of concrete actions that could improve resilience of the Mediterranean region to environmental change ?
The videos were made thanks to the support from UNEP/MAP through Plan Bleu Regional Activity Center. The researchers were interviewed during the MedECC Steering Committee and Coordinating Lead Authors meeting held from 11 to 13 December 2019 in Marseille, France. The shooting and editing was done by BAKA FILMS.
