MedeCC participated in the workshop “Adapting coastal cities to sea level rise in the Mediterranean region” on 26 April 2022. This event was organised by the project Sea’ties from the Ocean & Climate Platform.
Fatima Driouech, co-coordinator of MedECC, participated in the round table “Sea level rise in the Mediterranean sea: the scientific evidence” during the session “Accessing and sharing scientific knowledge”. Two other sessions will be dedicated to the adaptation of the tourism sector, and the access to adaptation finance.
The workshop gathered a wide range of coastal experts from across the Mediterranean to discuss the plurality of solutions, share good practices and identify knowledge gaps to build the resilience of coastal cities in the region. It builds on the Sea’ties Declaration – announced during the One Ocean Summit last February and signed by over 30 cities worldwide.
